About us
The orgin story of the Outreach Center
In August 1971 the “Latin American Center” was founded. Fr. Roberto Rodriguez acting as our first director, oversaw the support of the fast-growing Hispanic community by serving their spiritual and social needs. In 1992, St. Mark Parish welcomed the Center, under the guidance of Fr. Gerald Hessel, who integrated our community to the parish. Over the years, the Center has served not only Hispanic families in the Kenosha area, but all families and individuals who are in need. Currently, the Center serves in various social needs. In early 2015, as recommended by the board of directors and Fr. Carlos Florez, our name was changed to “St. Mark’s Outreach Center”, to reflect the change in our service to the community in need of Kenosha.

Meet Betty
“It is an honor to introduce myself to you as the Outreach Center Coordinator. For more than 20 years I have been working with the community and families in need in the Kenosha area. This experience has granted me a deep appreciation of how the center helps to improve the quality of life of our families, one program at a time. My priority is to help the underserved people in need through outreach. I’m passionate about helping new immigrants or relocated families by providing assistance that can help them adapt to a new city or country. I am humbled and excited to lead this important Center for more years to come and continue to serve families who are facing difficult times. BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Outreach Center board is comprised of one representative from each program and an outreach coordinator. Our dedicated members meet monthly to communicate events, services and programs. They evaluate and make decisions for the benefit of the Center, and encourage and support each other to continue serving families, it is through their work that we see the face of Christ

In 1996, the Catholic parishes of District 1 (Kenosha) under the guidance of Fr. Ken Metz, agreed to aid in the financial support of the Hispanic ministry since many Hispanics were coming to St. Mark from within the boundaries of the other parishes. The Outreach Center represents the Catholic outreach to the communities in need of Kenosha, Somers, and Pleasant Prairie
