support ministries

Worship is the central element in parish life. It is the summit and source of our Christian life. Our support ministries, which are described below, are essential to the spiritual life of our parish. Each parishioner is asked to consider involvement in the liturgical life of our parish.

The prayer network recognizes the power of prayer and praise to God. Participants receive petitions for prayer through a telephone chain. These ministers are encouraged to pray in their own way for these petitions. This ministry of prayer is appropriate for all parishioners, especially those who are unable to physically participate in other ministries of action. Those who wish to join the prayer network should call the parish office.

The sacristans care for the sacred vessels and vestments of our church and are of vital support to our liturgy. Sacristans are scheduled on a rotating basis. Those who wish to become a sacristan should call the parish office.

Washing and ironing sacred linen is needed on an ongoing basis as well as for special liturgical events. Participants perform this work at their homes on an rotating basis. Those who wish to serve in this ministry should call the parish office.

Volunteers for this ministry enjoy a sense of pride in knowing that the entire parish shares in the fruits of their labor. Those who wish to serve in this ministry should call the parish office.
